Learn how to manage illness and injuries in a child in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. topics include first aid basics, medical emergencies, inujry emergencies, environmental emergencies, signs of child abuse, and CPR and AED. this course meets American Heart Association and Idaho Child Care Program (ICCP) requirements for those involved in child care who have a duty to respond to a first aid emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements, such as child care workers, teachers, foster care workers, camp counselors, youth organizations, and coaches for children's sports organizations. Course textbook and certification card included in course fee.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor Course (#193102)
Learn to teach Basic Life Support courses (CPR and Basic First Aid) using AHA guidelines. Students must pick up a course manual from the Workforce Training Office at least 10 days before the course start date. This manual includes instructions for working through the Core Instructor self-study course and completing necessary paperwork. These must be completed before attending class. Cost includes core instructor manual and certification card. Guidance will be given in procedure for obtaining an instructor tool kit upon course completion. AHA requires all instructors to be monitored while teaching a real world Basic Life Support course. Cost does NOT include this observation time or instructor travel. The instructor will arrange this on an individual basis. Need a BLS Instructor Refresher Course? Let us know and we will add you to our initial BLS instructor course. You will need to provide verification of past certification (30-day grace period or will have to seek initial certification). AHA requires instructors to complete the Core Instructor Course, even if they have taught the course before.
